Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Infectious Disease Screening (Novel Coronavirus) patients and visitors entering the Hospital or Screening Sites (consists of asking and documenting screening questions +/- Temperature Reading).
  • At staff entrances, issuing mandatory masks and screening staff with digital tool or screening survey
  • Assisting patients and visitors with wayfinding to their clinic or department.
  • Delivering patient belongings to inpatient units.
  • Transporting patients to ambulatory clinics for appointments

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum grade 12 or equivalent
  • Additional post high school education preferred
  • Volunteer or formal training in a health care setting a definite asset
  • Previous work experience an asset
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
  • An ability to work as a member of an interprofessional team
  • Strong customer service experience with demonstrated success in conflict resolution
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Possess the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment which could include N95 mask, face shield, level 2 gown and gloves
  • Ability to work on feet for extended period of time
