Position Summary:

This challenging role invites applicants who wish to work in a consultative model, is a strong team player who is passionate about service, quality, developing innovative programs and engaging volunteers to their fullest potential.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate all activities as they relate to the Volunteer Development process;
  • Provide volunteer expertise and support to internal and external customers and other stakeholders to respond to service needs;
  • Ability to deliver advice around volunteer program planning & development, recruitment retention, recognition and evaluation;
  • Provide support, direction, professional development, and evaluation to service leaders on both sites;
  • Ability to recruit and support volunteers and service leaders for all adult volunteer programs;
  • Proven ability to successfully and effectively motivate and lead all volunteers;
  • Excellent presentation skills - ability to deliver quality, customer-focused presentations utilizing up to date technology i.e. power point;
  • In partnership with the Volunteer Resources team develop and deliver comprehensive community and media relations communication and marketing strategies for volunteer services;
  • Effectively utilizes appropriate electronic database system to support Trillium's volunteer programs;
  • Remain committed to continuous learning and professional development especially within the voluntary field and others as appropriate;
  • Creates a positive working relationship with the THP Volunteer Board in support of their goals and objective;
  • Participates as an effective team member of the Volunteer Resources team in the design of strategic priorities, principles and protocols and support to quality and risk development;
  • Creates avenues for volunteer recognition locally, provincially and nationally in cooperation with the Volunteer Resources team;
  • Project work as required.



  • University Degree or College Diploma in related discipline or equivalent;
  • College Certificate in Voluntary Management;
  • Experience working with adult and student volunteers is essential;
  • Proven ability to provide leadership;
  • Strong people and communication skills;
  • Effective team player.
