Job Description

Trillium Health Partners is proud to participant in the 2024/25 Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) program scheduled to launch in late April 2024.

The Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) program is funded by the ministry and supports new Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses who are within 12 months of registering with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) by providing them with a temporary full-time employment opportunity, above staffing complement to improve their transition into practice, and into full-time employment.

The NGG program aims to:

  • Support new nurses in Ontario as they transition into practice;
  • Improve the integration of new nurses into the workforce;
  • Promote the availability of full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours for new nurses; and
  • Promote health workforce planning at the organizational level.

Trillium Health Partners supports participants in the NGG program by:

  • Providing the new nurse with general orientation to the organization; allowing the new nurse to gain consistent knowledge on organizational practices, policies and standards;
  • Ensuring that a mentor(s) is available to work with the new nurse and that there is a designated transition into practice leader who is accountable for implementing the NGG program and tracking the progress with the new nurse and mentor(s);
  • Ensuring that a learning plan is developed by the new nurse and mentor;
  • Meeting the goals of the learning plan by including a variety of teaching strategies and delivery methods to educate on competencies, as it relates to the area/unit of employment of the new nurse.

Participation in the NGG program is open to nurses within 12 months of registering with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).  The new nurse must be registered with the CNO, either in the Temporary or General Class, before beginning the NGG program transition into practice period.

Canadian educated nurses who:

  • Graduated with a baccalaureate degree in nursing or a diploma from a practical nursing program in Canada;
  • Match with an employer on the NGG online portal within 12 months of registering with the CNO; and
  • Commit to accepting full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours with their NGG employer after completing the NGG program transition into practice period.

Internationally educated nurses (IENs) who:

  • Completed their nursing education outside of Canada;
  • Match with an employer on the NGG online portal within 12 months of registering with the CNO; and
  • Commit to accepting full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours with their NGG employer after completing the NGG program transition into practice period.

Grow you nursing career with Trillium Health Partners and apply today!

To get started, eligible nurses must first visit the NGG portal and register as a Nursing User.  Once registered, you will then be able to apply to posted positions at Trillium Health Partners on the NGG portal once opportunities become available.

We do not want you to miss out on these opportunities!

Trillium appreciates that many new nursing graduates may not yet have their CNO registration and as such will not be able to complete the registration process on the NGG portal until a CNO registration is received.  Given this, we invite all new nursing graduates in this scenario to apply to this job posting for consideration to participate in the NGG with Trillium Health Partners so long as you anticipate receiving your CNO registration by December 31st, 2024.  If an offer is presented, you will be required to then formally register on the NGG portal (pending receipt of CNO registration) and apply to a specific NGG job posting to finalize the recruitment process.
