Key Qualifications:

  • Registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and in good standing
  • Membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association preferred
  • Experience in the management of post-operative care of primarily spine surgeries and orthopaedic injuries/conditions, within an acute in-patient setting

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of 3 years of inpatient clinical experience in a hospital setting
  • Evidence of continuing education, professional and personal development is required
  • Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional, able to work effectively and collaboratively with a high performance team, as well as families and community partners
  • Sound knowledge of community resources is an asset
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • A second language is considered an asset

 

Position Summary:

  • Responsible for the delivery of client-centered physiotherapy services for patients who are post-operative following orthopaedic surgery, primarily the surgical spine populations
  • Provides physiotherapy assessment, goal oriented treatment interventions, client/family education and support to address medical and emotional needs
  • Performs as a coach/mentor, consultant and uses sound critical thinking skills to achieve client outcomes and facilitate team functions
  • Participates in program planning, continuous quality improvement and evaluation
  • Supervises support personnel, students and volunteers as appropriate
