Position Summary:

 

Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Planning Trillium HealthWorks and the Manager, Outpatient Care Transformation, the Project Manager will manage projects and aspects of operational readiness associated with Outpatient Care Transformation and the build of the new Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital and The Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre.  This position will utilize critical thinking, collaborative approaches and align to best practices to ensure the highest quality, effective and efficient system of care is achieved.

 

This position will support THP’s operating environment is effectively prepared to support and accept changes brought about by service changes associated with Outpatient Transformation and the new hospital build projects.  The role supports the Clinical Planning and Outpatient Transformation Managers in their work with internal clinical stakeholder groups and external partners to ensure optimal, collaborative and comprehensive planning.

Accountabilities:

  • Supports all elements of projects, accountable for implementing all necessary processes and practices to ensure the portfolio is delivering the project objectives and is successfully achieving the project's goals;
  • Support Leaders on the achievement of project goals
  • Monitor and report on progress, problems and solutions of the project to all stakeholders and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Engage and communicate with stakeholders on an ongoing basis and ensure changing resource and project requirements are met and understood
  • Participate in the creation and delivery of innovative presentations and proposals to all levels of the organization;
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at working with teams
  • Effective interpersonal communications skills and ability to successfully build relationships
  • Engage with a multi-disciplinary project team through all phases of the project life cycle, providing
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including regional, provincial and/or private sector partners to ensure the successful completion of project deliverables. 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Ideal candidates have an undergraduate degree in business, life sciences or related health discipline
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent preferred.
  • Change Management certification an asset;
  • Thorough understanding of operational needs of inpatient care units, health system flow and operations and demonstrates ability to recognize and remediate gaps
  • Comprehensive experience supporting implementing large scale change management, quality improvement and health system design work
  • Knowledge and experience with hospital operations and environments;
  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at working with large teams and complex initiatives
  • Experience organizing and facilitating meetings with multiple stakeholders
  • Interpersonal communications skills and ability to successfully build relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective and comprehensive reports and presentations for various audiences, including executives, administrators and clinicians
  • Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi task and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Understanding of both THP’s strategic plan and redevelopment plan
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft suite skills
  • Excellence in performance and attendance required
