SUMMARY:
We are recruiting for a speech-language pathologist with advanced critical thinking and interprofessional skills. As a member of the interprofessional team you will have the opportunity to provide care for adult patients (18+) with medically complex conditions including individuals with tracheostomies and other respiratory and neurological conditions. We are located at the Moir Family Centre for Complex Continuing Care at the Queensway Health Centre (located at 150 Sherway Drive in West Toronto).
Reporting to the Patient Care Manager of Complex Continuing Care, the successful candidate will: assess, treat and provide education to patients and families within the Complex Continuing Care program. Active collaboration with the interprofessional team is an integral component of this position.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will provide assessment, treatment and counselling for adult patients in collaboration with other health care professionals in the areas of communication and swallowing. Providing patient and family-centered care in a team setting is an integral part of this position. Education and training for staff, family, students and volunteers to maximize patient goals as required. Caseload responsibilities may change to accommodate SLP needs throughout the organization. This position is a part-time position (0.6 FTE, 3 days/week) with the potential to work additional hours in other clinical areas.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
- Licensed with the College of Audiologists & Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
- Gentle Persuasive Approaches certificate an asset
- Previous experience with assessment and management of swallowing disorders and communication disorders in a hospital setting
- Certification in MBSImp (for video fluoroscopic swallow studies) is preferred. If not MBSImp certified, then willingness to become certified is required
- Previous experience with assessment and treatment of complex geriatric patients with neurological, medical and surgical co-morbidities
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development, including clinical education with students and / or mentorship of Initial Practice Registrants
- Strong organization and prioritization skills with demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed fast-paced team environment
- Superior interpersonal communication skills, including verbal and written communication.

Position Summary:
Trillium Health Partners is undertaking the modernization of its business systems, specifically its human resources, payroll and staff scheduling systems, over the next two years. A project team has been established to oversee the planning and implementation of this project and it will be working with external partners and vendors throughout this process.
The OneTHP - One People Experience team is seeking six (6) Trainers. Reporting to the Manager, Workflow, Readiness, Training + Integration, in advance of the formal training period, trainers will support the testing of the new system, workflows, and functionality across the HR, Payroll, and Workforce Management modules. During the training period, Trainers will use the curriculum, lesson plans, and training materials created by the Training Team and external implementation partner to conduct training across the organization. Trainers will be required to update training materials and classroom content in alignment with system or workflow changes if/as needed. Trainers will also be responsible for training end users in a variety of settings such as large or small group settings in person or virtual, one-on-one and huddles, etc.
Responsibilities (include and not limited to):
- Supporting the testing of the new system and functionality.
- Training end users (THP staff) on the new HR, payroll, and scheduling systems functionality.
- Preparing classroom for training sessions including the preparation of technology and print materials.
- Provide support to end users in classroom.
- Provide remediation support (where required).
- Support the overall logistics of the training venue – preparing registration, answer questions, take attendance, gather training surveys, etc.
- Follow up on issues that arise in training sessions.
- Collect feedback from trainees in class and communicate that information with the Trainer/Analysts and Manager.
- Become proficient in workflows across the platform and be prepared to answer questions.
- Assist with updating training materials.

Location:
We offer employees, in roles that are conducive to remote work, the flexibility and the right mix of remote and in-office work (approximately 80/20). Acknowledging that the primary work space will be remote work from home, there will be times when onsite presence is appropriate just as there will be times when onsite presence may not be possible.
The expectation is that remote work locations, as part of the Flex First program, will be in the employee’s place of residence, and adhere to all THP policies and procedures, with special consideration towards privacy. Since employees should be available to return to the workplace with 24 hours’ notice, remote work outside of the province or country is not acceptable.
- This role will be a combination of remote and on-site work.
