Job Description:   Reporting to the Manager of Capital Planning, the Project Manager will coordinate and manage multiple aspects of upcoming hospital space and leasing projects at various stages in their development.  Working as part of a team, the successful candidate will play a key role in the development of organizational strategies and procedures to ensure effective project engagement, management, documentation, evaluation, and implementation; working within the hospital’s framework as well as that of Infrastructure Ontario, Ministry of Health and other authorities having jurisdiction. The position provides support to hospital operations by managing all aspects of corporate leases and hospital space requirements in general. The Project Manager is the primary liaison between the Capital Planning office, internal stakeholder groups, realtors and landlords, the design and technical consultants, and other key stakeholders.   General Duties: - Working with the Manager, the successful candidate will act as the hospital’s representative to coordinate and manage a multi-disciplinary team of hospital professionals, department stakeholders, realtors, landlords, architects, consultants and government personnel in the development of the upcoming hospital redevelopment projects, the ongoing operations of corporate leases and the tracking and allocation of space assets at all hospital sites. - Coordinate with realtors and landlords in lease agreement development, and oversee ongoing leased site property management as well as leased property capital renovation projects. - Working with the Manager, coordinate the tracking and allocation of both administrative and clinical space across the organization including off-site space. - Develop and maintain tools and techniques for reporting and tracking.   - Consult with departments in regards to physical space and furniture planning, operational requirements and other goals and objectives to ensure all work is in accordance with hospital standards, policies and procedures; - Coordinate with other team members, hospital staff and physicians to strategize and plan for minimal disruption to the current operating facilities; - Organize, manage and document all user group engagement, planning, follow-up, sign-offs and evaluation; - Ensures all stakeholders, including support functions are included in the planning of projects such as Infection Prevention and Control, IT, Parking, Security, etc. - Manage and oversee all consultant activities in the development of contract documents, including: functional program, budgets, project specific output specifications, design briefs, architectural, mechanical, electrical and structural drawings ensuring pre-tender (RFP) completeness and accuracy. - Manage and oversee development of RFP evaluation criteria for respective participants. - Responsible for project controls, monitoring, reporting, etc. - Develop correspondence, reports and presentations on a wide variety of topics suitable for internal and external stakeholders at all levels. - Consult with departments in regard to requests for additional space, furniture, wayfinding signs and cost estimation for capital improvements. - Performs cross-functional duties as assigned and/or requested; performing other duties consistent with the job classification as required   Skills & Experience: - Experience working with realtors and landlords in lease agreement development, ongoing property management and leased property capital renovation projects would be considered an asset. - Experience with space allocation, tracking and management in a healthcare setting - Excellent project management and organizational skills; - Comprehensive experience planning, managing and implementing health capital projects, including space and program planning; - Working knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care capital planning processes. - Working knowledge of legislation, codes and policies regarding accessible design (AODA) - Working knowledge of infection prevention and controls in healthcare construction and renovations - Experience and familiarity with a variety of furniture systems in a healthcare environment   Qualifications: - University or College degree, preferably in Architecture, Design, Engineering or Property Management.
