Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing housekeeping services to patient care and clinical areas as support to patients within the Hospital and other duties as assigned. The position may require availability 7 days a week on a rotational basis and shift times can be subject to change.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Be physically capable of performing the essential duties of the job

Qualifications:

3G CCU is a 6-bed level 2 Coronary Care Unit that provides comprehensive and compassionate care for a variety of acute cardiac patients: STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, as well as patients pre & post cardiac procedures. The ICU at the Mississauga Hospital Site is approximately a 31 bed, level 3 medical/surgical critical care unit staffed by an interprofessional team which supports regional programs including the neuro patient population within the Mississauga-Halton LHIN. OVERVIEW:
In your role as Senior Behaviour Therapist, Peel Behavioural Services, you will be responsible for providing the clinical guidance for the range of services and ensuring alignment with the Psychotherapy Act and the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. This would include ensuring the use of evidenced based practice and best practice where available within the theoretical framework of Psychotherapy and Applied Behavioural Analysis as well as within the identified scope of practice. Additionally, you would be responsible for ensuring that the evolution of services maintains alignment with the organizational goals of the hospital.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Provide clinical supervision, monitor quality management activities, consult on challenging cases and risk management issues with the Healthy Sexuality team and Manager
- Review assessment, treatment plans and progress/discharge reports and conduct file audits
- Ensure the use of empirically validated and evidenced based practice as well as evidence indicatedpractice all within an ethical framework
- Ensure the adherence to standards of practice (i.e. BACB/Controlled Psychotherapy Act) and the participation in research when appropriate
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with the relevant community partners, partner agencies, and other program staff
- Participate in relevant hospital committees/teams and assigned task group
- Provide treatment and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities, dual diagnoses and complex behavioural needs
- Work with clients in collaboration with a partner agency in a residential setting and community
- Conduct/review Functional Behavioural Assessments/Risk Assessments, treatment plans progress/discharge reports and conduct file audits

- Create/approve materials that support the treatment plan
- Collect and graph behavioural data for analysis of trends and making modifications based on review of outcome data
- Complete/review monthly risk assessment tools to inform meetings with consulting psychologist

- Train mediators (e.g., parents, teachers, support staff, community partners etc.) to implement empirically-validated ABA techniques and evidence based best practices with respect to Offence Specific Self Regulation Strategies
- Provide counselling and coaching with respect to Offence Specific Self-Regulation/Healthy Sexuality treatment programs that are individualized to the client/family supported so as to achieve socially significant outcomes
- Attend training opportunities and disseminating information across PBS team
- Assist in the orientation and training of university and college students completing educational placements when required
- Engage in continuous learning to remain current with respect to the research regarding best practices
- Collaborate with community agencies, schools, partner agencies, internal/external consultants and other departments within the hospital
- Perform others duties as requested by the PBS manager
- Travel outside of the Peel region is required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Honours Baccalaureate degree required (Psychology, Social Services or other related fields)
- Required registration with a professional regulatory body under the Psychotherapy Act (i.e. Ontario College of Social Work and Social Services Workers, College of Psychology, College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario)
- Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) considered an asset
- Experience in Applied Behavioural Analysis
- Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities
- Must have strong communication skills (written & verbal)

- Provides expert knowledge and advice to, and assists the Transport/Service Teams on best practice development and other goals/ initiatives
- Identifies and resolves issues, troubleshoots operational problems and front line staff issues
- Leads and participates in projects
- Ensures that all work is carried out in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, policies, standards and guidelines
- Participates in the HR Workforce planning process, including selection, supervision and training of staff
- Develops positive functional partnerships with client departments to ensure their needs are satisfactorily met; liaises with staff, stakeholders and administrators in developing, planning, implementing and monitoring quality improvement initiatives
- Develops, manages and monitors relevant budgets
Key Qualifications:
- Community College Diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and hospital experience in a unionized environment. Healthcare departmental management certificate is a definite asset.
- Experience and knowledge of Waste Audits and Waste Regulations
- Supervisory and/or leadership experience in Transport, Linen, Laundry and Waste regulations
- Good working knowledge of digital and transport software, i.e. MS Windows and Meditech are required
- Strong customer service, communications and interpersonal skills. Combined with good analytical, problem solving and financial management skills required
- Must to able to organize and prioritize work and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and customer service orientated environment
