The Role In this newly created role, the Vice President, Performance and Business Intelligence, will report to the Executive Vice President, Quality, Risk, Practice and Performance.  This role is accountable for assessing and leveraging health data to identify and establish appropriate strategies, measures and performance standards.    We are looking for a champion for the advancement of health data analytics, with the ability to present complex information in a simplified manner to a variety of senior level audiences and stakeholders.  The VP will lead the development of performance measures by applying advanced analytics to understand and predict workforce needs, to support care delivery and to provide a strong environment for practice by equipping the organization with dynamic health data insights.  This will include:   - Building a culture of data, reporting and advanced analytics - Building a health data strategy that supports an inter-connected system of care that is organized around the patient, both inside the hospital and beyond its walls - Building capacity around information as a critical enterprise asset enabled by a solid data platform - Continually improving tools and documentation to support health data analytics including business requirements, functional specifications, gap/problem analysis, etc. - Planning and implementing compliance processes - Analyzing, reviewing and measuring service level performance against service level agreements, ensuring internal and external service standards are achieved - Contributing to the short and long term organizational strategy by providing strategic level support from a data-driven point of view - Coaching and supporting the senior team and other THP stakeholders - Assessing performance and fostering delivery of innovative and best practice solutions in all aspects of the portfolio - Negotiating and building consensus on competing views and influencing direction - Working closely with peers and industry networks to share best practice information on analytics and performance measurement tools and approaches   The VP will also be a member of the THP Senior Leadership Team and will work closely with other senior leaders across the division and in clinical operations, enabling services, and corporate strategic leaders to build the foundation in order to implement a robust performance and business intelligence agenda and road map for the future.    Key leadership initiatives for the new VP will be to: - Develop THP’s health data strategy, working with our newly established THP Solutions team - Identify and pursue data and research partnership opportunities with the Institute for Better Health - Cultivate health data champions and partnerships across the organization - Provide support and advice related to the implementation of OneTHP - Optimize Organizational Effectiveness resources against the THP strategic plan - Develop and implement a THP health data shared service offering for cross-functional use   Scope of Responsibility The VP will oversee the Decision Support and Operational Effectiveness (OE) teams, with the opportunity to expand oversight as the benefits of OneTHP (EPIC) are realized.  Coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, scope of responsibility and oversight of portfolios may change as required.  This will require flexibility from the successful candidate. The VP will be a member of the THP Senior Leadership Team and other THP leadership committees as appropriate.   Experience We are looking for an accomplished, respected health care leader, capable of excelling in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, to champion the advancement of our approach to excellence.   This individual will: - The Role In this newly created role, the Senior Vice President, Quality, Risk and Medical Affairs will report to the Executive Vice President, Quality, Risk, Practice and Performance.  This role is accountable for building the foundation and supporting the execution of the organization’s service delivery, quality and performance programs, risk management framework and professional practice model.    The successful candidate will focus on developing, identifying, analyzing and building on existing business processes to continuously improve the balance of business, resource and compliance risks across the organization.  The successful candidate will also oversee Medical Affairs related to the support of clinical Program Leaders in meeting the credentialing, recruitment, performance management and quality of care needs of the 1300+ Professional Staff (physicians, midwives and dentists) at THP.   With your teams, you will build a strong foundation as we move forward with THP’s Strategic Plan by advancing quality through standardization and driving practice:   - Enhancing the patient experience by contributing to – and partnering on – patient safety initiatives and quality outcomes - Improving structure around existing departments by developing tools and documentation to support quality and risk management, including business requirements, while supporting the work of these departments and helping them to reach desired outcomes - Contributing to the short and long term organizational strategy by providing strategic level support from a quality and patient experience point of view - Monitoring and mitigating risks, focusing on themes that emerge as core risks to our strategic plan, including capacity and infrastructure, the wide-scale and complex nature of change, changing roles and accountabilities across clinical and corporate domains - Coaching and supporting the senior team and other THP stakeholders to ensure a continuous focus on high quality, patient and provider focused experiences as part of our organizational culture - Monitoring and reporting on professional practice standards - Informing and supporting the interprofessional model of care - Delivering a robust medical affairs service - Working closely with peers and industry networks to share best practices information - Supporting pandemic and post-pandemic performance and workstreams - Planning and implementing quality assurance and compliance processes - Continuously assessing portfolio performance to ensure delivery of innovation and best-practice solutions in all aspects of the portfolio   The SVP will work closely with other senior leaders across the division, clinical operations, enabling services, and corporate strategic leaders to implement a robust quality, risk, professional practice and medical affairs agenda for the future.  The successful candidate will bring these functions together to further advance interprofessional models of care.
